Mine has all the parts i believe, but i have never worked one of these before.

I plug it in but only the fluorescents come on.

Any ideas where to start?

Most likely needs the battery replaced. Badbaud at K-Lar has some info on replacing the battery in some older post. Pretty straightforward with a little soldering and you need to cut one of the traces on the board. I got one running recently but I believe the chips on the board are wrong for the machine. Payouts don’t match the glass.

What do you mean by cut one of the traces?

Thanks

When you replace the battery with a coin type lithium battery you need to cut a trace on the back of the board.

The battery on mine is like a small barrel type, with 3 pins on it.

Those don’t last long and are know to corrode, destroying the board.

Good to know, do you have a recommendation?

Also, would you be able to tell me how to install a new one?

I appreciate all the help too.

Cheers

Check the power supply output voltages, unplug and plug back in all the connections, make sure the boards are seated properly.

Pretty sure there is a test point on the board where the pseudo coin button is. I think it is +5volts. It actually needs to be higher but of course I can’t remember the exact value. The output on the power supply is adjustable. I think it’s like 5.4 or 5.6 that’s the happy spot.
