How much RAM does an NXT 3.2 CPU come with? Is it expandable?
Thanks,
Jason

4GB, if you load ARGOS you can go to 8GB. I've never used ARGOS, so I've never done the 8GB conversion.

Ok, so non-ARGOS, leave at 4GB then. Thanks, Rick.

I’m doing a necro bump here guys…
In an NXT 3.2, is it possible to install a single 4GB stick instead of using two 2GB sticks? The reason I ask, is because I’m having a problem with 1 MPU not recognizing one of the slots, and it thinks only 2GB is installed. As a result, Wonka will play, but as soon as a bonus round starts, the game craps out with an insufficient memory error. I even checked System Info and only 2GB is recognized. Swapped with 2 new sticks…same thing.

You should use pairs. I had 8gb ram in mine to play Argos games in my Blade, so a pair of 4 gb sticks. Do not use L type ram in a BB3 CPU. L type is for Bally.

Thanks, Jeff. Yes, I realize that pairs should be used, but since technically in my case, one of the channels doesn’t appear to be working, would a single 4GB stick work?
I guess I may have to bite the bullet and try it.

Is the RAM under the CPU fan? I was looking on the board to see where it was, but it isn't obvious.
Thanks

I added 8 Gigs to the machine. All 8 Gigs are registering, but it really didnt change much. Maybe a little faster loading? Thanks idesign for the info.

If you are running it in a Blade cabinet, the 8gb will come in handy playing Argos based games.

I did end up troubleshooting mine down to a bad stick of memory. The machine is registering both SODIMMs now.
Thanks,

My vote is Crucial RAM forever. Transcend is what appears to be in a lot of these games.
