Post by: ast0r on December 09, 2014, 01:17:23 PM
Hey,

I`m looking for a manual or any information about the next slotmachine:

Trident Criss Cross Winner
Trident Mini Maxi

Both don`t start, only the two LED`s on the C.P.U go on.

Thanks
Kind regards Michael

Fuses are all OK? The RED circuit breaker button is reset? The toggle switch is in the RUN position? Could be a faulty power supply? All the cabinet door switches are depressed when doors are closed? Is there a power switch inside the machine?

Is there some damage to the board from battery leakage? In particular, take a look at ic's RN11 and RN12. The photo seems to show that, see areas highlighted below:

Good eye on that corrosion! Yes there appears to be corrosion on half of that board. I see there is blistering on the traces. Usually this is where the traces are ate away from the acid damage. I see other components with corrosion also.

Looks like a battery has leaked in the past, don't know if it is the one on the board now or before. Too bad the company that made this machine didn't simply mount this mpu board upside down from what they did, so that the battery would have been in lower right corner. Leakage would have done much less damage.

The owner will need to remove the mpu and make a good inspection. There is likely to be more battery leakage damage under connectors and even under ic's. If replacement mpu boards are available for reasonable cost that may be the best way to go. This board may be repairable but will need a good thorough washing to neutralize the battery chem and replacement of several affected parts. It almost looks like some of the legs on ic RN11 are missing or corroded off.

If mpu had been mounted this way in the machine then damage from battery leakage would be minimized. An even better method would be to remove battery from board and remotely mount it off the board, use 2 wires for connection:

On my power supply doesn't has reset button and test/run switch.
Inside only transformator some fuse 3 diode bridge and 3 capacitor and  2 neon ballast.
I found test button inside machine.

On CPU board Z80 is in reset state.
I follow on PCP it's started e from 74ls123 and go throw some ttl gate.

Today managed repair my CPU Board from 1984.
For reset circuit need 6V AC from Power Supply, and I give only 5 V on the table.
The 74ls245 databus driver was bad, and one opto gate on one reel assembly.

Has anyone information about dip switch setting or user manual for this  old trident games series?
