Hi All
I'm working on a older game king with a 3902 board. When I got it there was a coin in jam and touchscreen error.
(this is the old style with the in out boards on a tray above the cpu) I ended up swapping the 3902 board and that cleared the touch screen error but not the coin in jam.
When I try to clear the machine (using a 40 or a 22 clear) it goes thru all the normal clear procedure then when it reboots it goes back to the error screen. ( not the set up screen)
Any ideas what I might be missing?

Did you answer "Yes" to all three questions? Credits on machine?
-
Yes I answered yes to all three and there are no credits on the machine.
I put the base chip back in and reboot and end up where I started!
-
When it's rebooting do you get RAM/EEPROM error messages, turn key, push and hold button for 2 - 3 seconds instructions on the screen?
-
Yes, It does everything as you would expect then goes back to the main screen with the error. If I push the reset button its as though I hadn't cleared it.( can't change any settings)

Does your machine have coin handling? If not do you have to jumper plug installed?
-
Yes it does have coin handling, I just tried a third cpu with the same results. It just won't clear!
Guess it's time for another beer!
-
Do you tried a different IO board?
-
This has the in outs on the tray above the cpu, I don't have any and haven't been able to find them.
I have a WTB add listed.

Ok. I've never worked on one that early.
