Title: Game King Board ID
Post by: MarkHart on February 19, 2017, 02:04:02 PM
Can anyone tell me which Game King board this is?  I have looked at the 3902 boards but this one looks different.  Can I use a Key 17 Chip on this board or will I need a Key 22 or Key 40. I am trying to activate the hopper and need to get to that menu.  One more question. What does the key switch on the front of the board do?
Thanks!

That's a 3802 board.  Some older software requires a key to get to the privilege menu and a keychip will not work.
What software are you using.

I think the base chip says 526, if so, a 17 or 22 key will work.
Here's the psr:

Thanks. I tried a Key 17 chip and it would not let me enable the hopper. I have a Key 22 chip on the way and will see if that does it. Thank you for the info!

It would help to know what versions are running. You can display them in the menu's "Program Version Display" screen. I have this M0000526 base chip and it runs with G0001777. If that's what you have, Key 17 should work.

My game version is G0001777. I tried the Key 17 and also a Key 40 chip.  The Key 40 shows that the hopper is enabled but both boxes are gray and won' let me change it.  When I have even a small payout it goes to Hand Pay and hopper won't turn. Since hopper is enable, could the problem be in the hopper itself? Thanks!

Page 8 of the attached PSR for G0001777 explains the Hopper Options. It sounds like you are looking at the Operator Menu, not the Key Chip Menu.

Pressing the reset button on the MPU enters Operator Mode.

To get to the Key Chip Menu, power off, replace the M0000526 chip with Key 17, power on, wait a few seconds for the purple screen and two lit LEDs. Power off, replace the Key 17 with the original Base M0000526 and power on again and wait for the initialization to complete. You should then be in Key Chip Mode. From there, you can change your Cashout Device settings. Also, check the Denomination settings, hopper/coin acceptor denomination (page 6).
