Title: Handleproblem on my World series of slots
Post by: jkock on August 12, 2015, 05:53:02 PM
Hello! I bought an Universal World Series of Slots bandit for almost nothing because it was stone dead. But after several hours i have got everything to work except playing with the handle! I insert coins and the handle solenoid is activated and i can pull the handle and the reels spins as they should, but then the handle get stuck in the down position and i cant get it back. ( I have to release it mechanically inside the machine) What can be wrong? It has nothing to do with lubrication because the handlemechanic is well lubricated. Please help.

Sometimes the lube hardens. Try a little WD-40. Sticking handles is a common problem.

Is there a switch in there near the handle mechanism that makes contact when the handle is pulled all the way down? If so the wires or the switch itself may be messed up. That switch would release the ratchet solenoid so the handle can return to home position. On a working machine once the handle is pulled it won't go back to home position until it is pulled all the way down to end of travel. So whatever happens at end of travel to release the handle may be what is wrong with your machine??

Yes, there are some switches in the handle mechanism, but they all seems to work because the LED on the switches lights when contact
is made. I will try to lubricate more, and if it is not helping, i have to pull the mechanism out of there and find the problem. It feels like a mechanical problem because it is really stuck and it is not possible to force it back with pure bodystrenght.

Regards!
