Bally 6000 “REEL CASH”
« on: March 18, 2022, 08:42:52 PM »
I had to do a ram clear on my machine. It has “leave in mains”. So I just did the DS1#8 and machine cleared but now the bonus spin reel on top is not functioning correctly. When machine is turned on it won’t reset. Just keeps spinning. Even hit a bonus and machine just dispensed credits. Is there something that has to be enabled/disabled after a “ram clear”? Thank You for Your continued assistance in my adventures.

Did you reconnect the cable to the front of the MPU?  The leave in clear chips may be your issue as the DS1 - switch number 8 may have to be in the opposite direction in order for the bonus wheel to function...  You may want to get a set of removeable clear chips, do a clear, and install the original factory mains.

Thank You, for the info, The little cable is plugged in. The machine came with leave in mains. What are Your thoughts on this. I have a set of clear chips, What about trying those and then putting back the “leave in mains” ? Or, I also have another new set of “leave in mains”. Either way should I try a clear set first?

If they are leave in mains (leave in clear), they may not work with cash wheel machine because #8 has to remain in the off position for the wheel to work. You should get a set of 2005 or 2006 mains and a set of removeable clear chips which do not use the switch number 8 to perform a clear.  The year that is on the wheel driver board is the year of the MPU mains you will need.

Ok, just an FYI, this machine was working great until I tried to add a printer. So my understanding is that because this has happened, I can’t go back prior to changing hopper/printer parameters. I’m somewhat confused about this. Even though I have “leave in mains”, I still turn off #8 after clearing, to enable the machine. Remember here You’re dealing with DEMENTIA DAN. I’m lost a bit, but want to learn all I can. Thank You again, for Your time.

If it worked with the original mains , then they are fine, continue to use the mains the machine worked with previously. Not sure what changed and now the bonus wheel will not work.?

Here’s the latest update for Anyone interested. Sunrise Side, spent some precious time researching my pictures of the machine and found that somehow when I was “RAM CLEARING” it I switched DS1 #3 on. Once He gave me the correct settings of the DS1 dip switch I did my “RAM CLEAR” and my machine is back to life.
NEW LESSON, ALWAYS take pictures of your WORK, before You START. This will give a reference point if You screw something up like ME. Thank You again EVERYONE, for Your continued help.
