Title: IGT I-Game 3902 board
Post by: keystone9 on February 08, 2017, 05:39:46 PM
I am working on another I-Game with a 3902 board. Replaced the battery with a fresh one. Now all I get is a pixalated screen upon restart. It was working fine before the battery change. Red light on the MPU.  What the hell did I do wrong? Thanks. Bill.

Checked the contacts/pins and made sure the MPU/SIMS are seated firmly?

Checked, double checked. No good. Now I am just trying to figure out if it is the software or the MPU board. I have some 044 games to try but no 3902's. I don't know if I can try a software swap between the two.

You can try the 3902 software on the 044 MPU if you have a legacy adapter board.

Take the two batteries off the board install and power up. And see what happens!

i just ran into this same problem in one of my machines only on mine its intermittent. i have not tracked down the problem yet but i will post here if i figure it out. it didn't help with mine but definitely check around where the batteries are for any stray solder balls and shorts. also check for bent and broken pins on the connectors on the side of the board.
