Title: UV-1700 Issue
Post by: Tbone_josh on February 12, 2021, 09:03:12 AM
I recently got a Sigma UV-1700 Double Jokes Wild, was told it came out of a casino a long time ago and sat in a warehouse.  The machine is setup for tickets.

It boots up fine, and shows the game, but the lower yellow candle is on and in the right hand corner Door and Power are lite up. They are suppose to go grey once the condition clears, but that never happens, it says the icons will disappear after 2 game cycles, but the BV, touchscreen, and buttons don't do anything.   If I open any of the doors I get the call attendant and beeping, close them and it goes back to this screen, I can't get past this point, I have checked all of the wiring connections and jumpered the reset circuit.

I have restored several older reel systems, and some older non-touch IGT video poker machines, this is the first time working on a machine with a ticket printer and a Sigma.

I had some time this weekend to play around with the machine and figured out what the Door/Power was, it shows up for a couple of game cycles and goes away.  The touch screen isn’t working, and found the 3M MicroTouch controller board was burnt out, found one on EBay so hopefully that will fix that.

I can get the game to play which is great, but noticed the cash out button was unplugged, I’m not sure if this was done because of the ticket system or not.  Connected that and Cash Out works but shows a message for an attendant to payout.  The BV works which is great.

Some boards were removed I think related to player tracking and communication with the casino which is common.  What I don’t understand is the ticket printer, will that even work with a standalone machine?  There’s a SIB connections on the board connected to the MPU, there’s a cable plugged into CN24 and that connects to COM1 CN10, but there’s a cable hanging that looks original with the machine that’s labeled COM1.  There’s also two cables labeled for CN23 which is labeled door, one looks like it was added after the fact.  If anyone knows which cable I should have connected that would be helpful

If anyone has a coin hopper for a UV-1700 I would be interested in purchasing.

What exactly is the problem here, not clear

It turned out to be 2 issues.  The touch screen controller failed, replaced and was able use the touch screen, I was able to get the buttons to work after cleaning the pins on io board on the door.  The 2 different issue was very confusing.

I would like to get the printer working it has power and feeds paper, but shows not connected on the status screen.  I believe it’s connect correctly to the board, so either the printer is bad or something else is going on.
