Title: IGT Draw poker vertical roll
Post by: newkid3 on April 15, 2016, 08:20:15 PM
Hello all, i have a IGT Draw poker PE i think. It has no validator. The problem i have is it has a vertical roll problem. It is on the board because i can put a board from another one it and the picture is good. It is what they call the microprocessor board i guess. The board in the top of the cabinet behind the security door. Does anyone know what controls the vertical sync or what could be causing this?

Wondering why this was moved? This is not a monitor issue. As stated in my post. I can put another game board in this cabinet and the picture is perfect. The problem is on the game/microprocessor board. Does anyone know what could be the cause.

Doesn't make sense, 90% 0f the time it is PRA-H on the monitor board.

But... the 40 pin chip to the right of the 8032 processor generates the Vert and Horz signals for the monitor, Try re-seating that chip.

And... it could also be one of the pins on the plug that plugs into the monitor could be pushed out and causing the roll.

pps... some monitors have a Vert adjustment on the board near PRA-H and it could be so close to the roll position that some MPU boards will lock the Vert in while others don't. You can try adjusting that control a little one way then the other. I say a little becaise you have to remove the monitor from the machine to do the adjustment.

one other thing... if it is a PE+ slant top the monitor may not be seated all of the way in, try pulling the monitor out slightly then pushing it back in.

That's it, I'm done.

I agree.  I don't know who moved it, but I'm moving it back to the section specific to your machine.

Upon further examination of your machine, I don't think you have a PE -- it looks maybe like a Fortune I, as it looks just like this machine (http://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?topic=10177.0) which was identified as a Fortune I.  As such, I'm moving this post to the Fortune I section.

Ok, Fortune I and not PE+.

The picture roll on a Fortune I is usually caused by a weak 7407 IC up near the color adjustment pots or a 7404 IC near the crystal.

NewKid I am glad that you are bringing life back to a Fortune 1.  I love the older games and I am always looking for more.

You are in great hands Badbaud has never steered me wrong with advice.  I would check where he told you first.  I just saw a fortune 1 board on ebay yesterday if you need one.

Thanks for the replies. Got the 7407 changed out this morning. It fixed the vertical roll. Now i have the FFFFFF under coin and also FTWO PAIRE at the top of the screen. I dont know if the color is right. Any ideas on this stuff. Oh yeah i dont have a battery in it yet. Thinking that is probably something. Battery is like $16 at radio shack.

If you don't have a credit game you don't need a battery.

If you do have a credit game a 3.6V Lithium Ion battery will work. Remove the battery holder and solder the battery to the board. Do not use a NiCad battery.

Try resetting your CG chips to clear the garbage on the screen.

But it could be more serious and it could be weak character RAM which means send it to our shop, if so call Larry at 702-363-9998

What do you mean by credit game?

A credit game recers to one you can store credits on so you don't have to insert coins for every spin and winnings go to credit instead of paying out each time. Without a memory battery, stored credits are lost each time the game is turned off or loses power
