Title: game maker....slowly blinking blue screen of deadth.....

my bally game maker when turned on it displays a blue screen with a large cursor (not blinking) oin the top left corner.....it sits for a second or 2 then the screen goes blank then repeats.  the power led's are all lit....the reset led seems normal and does not blink with the reset.  I am thinking maybe i just need to reprogram this but that is so much fun I thought I would poll the crew here first.  Thanks for your input....

I would power off, pull the MPU and reseat all the chips in sockets. While you're there check the back for any connectors that may have worked themselves out. Also make sure the MPU is plugged back in firmly.
Then turn it on and report back.

On a couple of boards I have fixed I found the tall metal case crystal in the center of the board was broken off of the PCB.

I wonder where he went? Maybe he sold it...
