Title: GEN2 NetPlex printer
Post by: markd on November 25, 2019, 11:56:34 AM
Howdy pardner's!
My gen2N printer (in a GK I+) is not listed in the netplex auto config menu, even after touching the auto config icon. The only things listed in the menu are the BV and Spectrum, with Spectrum not responding. The dip switches on the printer are set correctly, (I believe?) with #2 on and the rest to off. The printer prints; the green arrow on the bezel is lit; time and date stamp on the vouchers jive...the whole nine yards!
My questions are: What do I need to do in order to get the printer recognized in the netplex menu? And, what the heck is Spectrum for!? (Sounds like an offshoot organization of S.P.E.C.T.R.E. from the James Bond movies!).
Thanks,
Grasshopper (a.k.a. Mark D.)

You have to enable the printer it's in one of the setup menus.  Spectrum is a type of progressive display that are netplex based.

Hello Rick,
Thank you for the info! Although, last month when I physically installed the printer in the machine, I did enable the printer using a 40 key chip. Two weeks ago I did use a 17 key chip to set up a TITO board from Bettor Slots. Is it possible that using the 17 key may have disabled the printer and I didn't catch it. Am I taking it for granted  that the printer is enabled just because all the bells and whistles are working on the printer? It's even doing split pays like I want.
Mark
