I looked around the forums and couldn't see a topic.
How do I update my bill validator on my S2000 to accept new US currency?
Thanks for any help.

What type of BV is presently installed, and the version of firmware already in the BV
-
you might want to psot a picture of your BV, if it's a WBA also include picture of bottom side (some are flash and some have eproms).

Not sure of those numbers are firmware version? I'm new to this, Thanks.

Pull the validator out and turn it upside down and post a picture of that. The sticker on top does not necessarily mean what is on the validator. We also need to determine if it is a WBA13 (eprom based, you can just a chip and replace it) or WBA12 (flash based, you need to send it to someone to have it flashed).

That is a wba 12. You'll have to send it to someone to have the chip flashed. Or you can upgrade to a wba13 and use an eprom chip V 3.80. There are a lot of 13s around with the new chip already installed reasonably priced and the 13ss is a four way bill acceptor. Not just face up.

Ok, Thanks I'll Have A Look Around... These Are Fairly Easy To Upgrade? It Still Works Great, Or Is It Better To Get New...?!?
-
Last I heard it was around $25-30 to flash a bill validator with the newer software...YMMV.
-
WBA 12s and 13s are the same validator, just the memory is different. The reason for Flash and EPROM is that some gaming jurisdictions still do not allow flash memory for software. They both have 4 way acceptance, accept all the new currency and as a matter of fact, the only difference is the CPU board
-
What is 4 way acceptance?
-
4 way acceptance means it will recognize the bill no matter which way you insert it. There are 4 possible ways to insert a bill, that is why it's called 4 way acceptance.

Ahh Gotcha, Thanks.
