I have a client that has an older Double Diamond with the DBV-200 that is not accepting the newer $20's and $100's.
Based upon what I have read so far, JCM is not making anymore software/firmware updates for this model.
Has anyone else ran into this problem and found a solution?
Thank you ,

Only solution is to upgrade to a WBA 12 or 13 and that will get a few od the newer bills, but that model isn't supported anymore either so it is also limited

If you do this conversation you will only gain the new $20. The $100 will not work.

Is this for an S+ machine? If not the following may not apply.
I believe the last software release for that DBV-200 with ID022/023 was ver 2.61. You can check the DBV sticker to see what version is in there now. Over the years these bill validators can get updated a few times, so the most recent software version sticker may be on top of the eprom/flash rom that is located on the bottom of the DBV-200. Below is the JCM document covering the 2.61 release and the notes give info on what bills it covers. There are probably folks here on NLG that have the DBV upgrade eprom chip if you want to get one, if not here is a source (below). If you check into getting the updated eprom you can ask the seller what bills it accepts and decide if the update will be worth it. And be sure to tell the eprom seller what machine model it is so they can ensure compatibility.
Note- some DBV-200 heads have the software contained in eprom that is socketed, easy to replace. Other DBV-200 heads have the software in a flash rom that is soldered in place, must use a special flash loading setup to update it. So before you buy the update eprom make sure the DBV-200 uses an eprom.

I just finished unsoldering the flash prom and installing a socket, then installed the updated eprom V261 in my DBV-200. While it doesn't read the new 5's or 100's, it does read everything else now including the new 10's and 20's. Best part is it only cost me $15 to do this upgrade.
