Title: IGT S2000 backlit reels are FULL BRIGHT

I am currently working on an IGT S2000. I have recently converted it to use backlit reels. The reel backlight LEDs are full bright all the time though, except when a winning combination is hit. On winning combinations, the backlights will flash dim. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Which BL controller are you using?  Are you using LED panels or bulbs?  If using led bulbs use regular controller.  If using LED BL controller, use LED panels.

I am using the controller specific to LED backlights with LED bulbs pushed into the sockets.  I found a generic photo of the one I'm using.  I'll get onto Ebay and pick up a regular controller.

I believe that will solve your problem.  That is the combo I use on all my S2000s.

Thank you for your help!  The replacement board should arrive in a few days, then I'll post an update.

I installed the replacement board.  After powering the machine on, all three reels are dim.  When I hit a winning combination, only reels 1 and 2 flash bright.  Reel 3 just stays dim.  Could the replacement board be defective?

Yes, the board is NOT brand new is it?
Ask the seller politely, if they will take it back, and test it.

The ad said the board was new, but I noticed it had a date code of 2005.  We'll see what the seller comes back with.

The seller was happy to do an exchange.  The replacement incandescent only board arrived today.  Everything is now working perfect!  Thank you for your advice.  I appreciate you!

Good to hear seller replaced the bad board and everything is now working as it should.  :cool_thumb_up:
