Post by: Amechanic on November 29, 2016, 06:25:12 PM
i picked up a few coin comparitors resently. I know where all but one fits. Tags hard to read because of a sticker that was on it?

CMI is hard to read, but my money is on IGT s2000 or igame/gameking 3802/3902/044.

Might try contacting the manufacturer (Coin Mechanisms Inc) support people and run the serial number by them, they may be able to tell you the CMI number and platform/machines it is intended for. The CMI number looks like it says "CC-16D" to me, so you could mention that in your request to them. They were helpful to me the last time I contacted them. Here is their web contact form:

http://www.coinmech.com/contactus.cfm (http://www.coinmech.com/contactus.cfm)

They also list an email address at the bottom of that page if you want to contact them that way, which might be better because you could attach the photo of the comparitor to your email. Pictures usually help get a better response.

Also, if that stuff on the label is from sticker adhesive maybe it will rub off with a soft rag, maybe wet the rag with a little rubbing alcohol, but not so much rubbing that you remove the CMI label writing. Sort of like removing one of those hand stamps you get when going into events or certain clubs.

To me it looks like the CMI number is 661684 but that taking a guess on the top of the last 2 numbers showing.. I didn't think a 12v comparitor worked in IGT?
I don't want to try to clean the glue off just for the reason of loosing what I can currently read. I guess it's worth a try contacting the company. I wouldn't have thought of that.. Thanks.  :1: .. Sometimes the simplest solution is right in front of you..

Oops, I meant the model number (not the CMI #) looks like it is CC-16D. But anyway, they probably have a record of the serial number, so could maybe tell you the other info about it. Also, the label has the date of manufacture in lower-left corner, Sept 1996, that may help them to locate their records.

Oops, you are right.  24V AC for S+ and 13V DC for S2000/igame.  Then I would say early Bally or WMS since they now all use MC40's.
