I got a Firepower board on my bench.
History: In the game it would boot, work for a minute then go crazy.
I haven't fixed an mpu in years. So I went out and bought another scope, already have a logic probe and DMM.
I replaced all the connectors, removed the old sockets, socketed the CPU, bought a Leon test ROM and fired it up. LEDs started flashing as they should. Left it on for a minute and came back locked on. Tried switching power on and of several times, still locked on. Checked CPU, IRQ signal and crystal wave forms all seem good. Checking the address lines on test ROM, a couple were locked high. I'd like to see a video of someone taking a logic probe to each pin and see if it corresponds to my readings. I would really like it if some guru out there wouldn't mind video conferencing with me on Skype while I did the tests. If you wouldn't mind mentoring me, please let me know.
