I have a Game King with a door mount Wells Gardner LCD. When I put the game in touch screen test and touch the lower left of the screen and drag across to the upper right the screen shows I'm doing the opposite. When I touch the upper center and drag to the bottom it displays a line going across the center left to right. I swapped touch screen boards and same outcome. Is it a pinout on the touch screen ribbon harness? Anybody have any ideas?

The more I think about this the more I think the ribbon harness that goes from the actual touch screen to the touch screen controller is wrong. Can someone look at their Wells Gardner and tell me the pinout (wire colors) on the ribbon cable they have there.
thanks
jeff

You should only have 4 wires connecting to the touch screen. You should have a cable with a 4 pin plug. I wire runs to each side or corner of the touch screen. If your touch screen is totally backwards you might have to reverse the wiring on that plug. I don't have one in front of me, but I have had to do this before my self.

I have 3 plugs running into the touch screen controller. The 2 wire plug, and a 5 wire running directly into the controller. I also have a 5 wire that runs from a ribbon cable into the 3m touch plug. Which do you suspect I should start swapping wires on, my guess is the wires from the ribbon cable.
thanks

It would be the one that goes to the touch screen. One wire must act as a ground is my guess. I just pulled out a spare touch screen off an old CRT, and I see that the wires from the touch screen goes into to a sealed plug that connects to the touch screen control board. I remember swapping wires in a flat plug that corrected a reversed touch screen. Without a complete assembly in front of me I can't be any more help. I know I've done it, but that was a while back.
