I need a new fluorescent bulb and another one soon, plus a starter. While prices are fairly decent online, shipping makes it not such a great deal.
Maybe it is due to the one getting ready to go out, but the glass looks like there is a little night light in there. lol It isn't very bright.
I know LED costs more but wondering if anyone out there has used LED for their Top and belly glass and how do you like it? Does it make the glass brighter? Wattage etc? Where did you get it?
And if you don't mind, :Please_Post_Pictures_2clr:

Also, a lot of people replace the incandescent bulbs in the pushbuttons with LED's. Besides the great appearance it reduces the heat the machine makes so can lessen the damage to pushbuttons and the LED's use less electricity, which is a plus for your machine's power supply.

LED bulbs don't use the starters.

While continuing my search on how to upgrade to LEDs. I have come across several places where you can use the sockets that the fluorescent tubes go into but have to do a little bit of rewiring configuration. But they are wanting, to me an ungodly amount of money. Golly gee do I really need to spend almost $150 just to put LEDs in the top glass and belly glass?
For that price, I'll pay the $25 shipping to get $9 worth of starters and fluorescent light tubes!!

Just an idea, I upgraded all our lighting in S Pluses, but did it by using Daylight 6000K flourescent lamps, replacing the soft white 2700K. You can really tell the difference, nice and bright now without expensive LED's or rewiring. :-)

Do this fluorscent tube give away allot of heat in the machine or like the LED fluorscent do?

Florescence light bulbs do need starters in the S+ machines because of the ballast type, but if you convert to LED bulbs for the belly glass, top and reel glass you will not be using the ballast or starters currently in use. You will have to rewire those 3 light to use the newer LED bulbs like the ones used in the S2000 machines.

Where are you shopping for your bulbs? I've always had good luck at 1000bulbs.com and never paid anything close to $25.00 for shipping. You can buy these bulbs for about $1.69 each and up.
Correction.. The bulbs are $1.21 each and the shipping on 3 bulbs was $11.00+.. So for around $15.00 you have 3 new bulbs.. Shipping usually stays close to the $11-$15 range even when I bought 20 bulbs..
