Title: Bally 6000 Cash Wheel/Fortune Finder
Post by: cheller80 on February 28, 2020, 06:53:54 AM

Hi, wondering a couple things when servicing the upper wheel unit...

How do you tighten and/or remove the wheel dial/arm? Mine seems loose and "flops" a little when spinning, I don't see a screw or nut to tighten it to the hub. Is it just snapped on the hub, or what? Definitely don't want to force it for risk of breaking something.

On related note, what's the strategy for replacing the circular flourescents behind the wheel? Does it require dial and wheel plastic removal to get them on there?  Or is there a better way?

Thanks for the help!

Figured this out.  The wheel dial is actually two pieces snapped together that hide a screw into the motor hub. Gently pry the dial piece apart along the split (hard to see) to release the snap tab, then can remove the hidden screw to remove the dial.

The "wobble" appears to have been that the screw hadn't been touched in a while and needed tightening.

As to the flourescents, best to take the motor off the back and gently wedge them in there.

Surprised that I couldn't find a Bally manual anywhere that showed this, would think that would have been helpful info. I'm not a slot tech, but know my way around pinball machines well, and still couldn't figure this out for the life of me.
