Title: Game King sound issue
Post by: SlotLizards on April 16, 2020, 03:26:18 PM
Hello, i recently purchased a Slant Top Game King with a 3902 board. I wanted Cleo Keno so i purchased a full tray. I installed the game with keychip 22. Everything loaded up smoothly and im able to play all games. The issue im having is that i only have sound for half the games. The new tray came with an additional board mounted on top of the regular board. I believe this to be a sound card from the different posts I've been reading. What have i missed or am i missing with this install?? Thank you.  (Pictures coming when i figure out how to resize)

Sounds like you are missing the sound SIMM that goes on that Multimedia Lite board atop your MPU. Post the number of the base chip & I can tell you what SIMM you need. You can resize your picture with most smartphones or about any photo editor. Microsoft Paint is included in Windows.

The base chip just says M0001. The board I bought off Ebay said IGT 3902 Board With M10001 Software 5.0.

Push the white button, press on accounting box, then press more, then press program version accounting and wait for the screen to load.  It will tell you the version.  Tell us what it says.

Make sure the mml sound board is pushed down onto the mpu board all the way in the slots.

What are the dip switches supposed to be set at? I also see two other sets of dip switches,  what should those be set for?

On the sound simm all off (they are).  The PXL simm dip switches depend on the number and size of the simm cards.  They are correct or the game would not boot up.

Can you be more specific when you say half the games don't have sound.  Do you mean no sound what so ever?

Cleo Keno,  Caveman Keno and all the slot games have absolutely no sound. Multi card has all sounds except when credits count up after a win.

Remove the sound simm or mml board with sound simm and see if you get same sounds.

Also try reseating the sound simm on the sound board.  Just noticed that the sound simm DSS00334 did not appear on your program version screen so the mpu is not seeing it.
