Title: Back Up Base EEproms and Backplane EEproms
Post by: T on April 28, 2020, 09:31:14 PM
I would like to backup the games I have both IGT 3902 and 044 Platform. Problem is I don't know how to do this. It looks like I need an EPPROM burned / reader connected to computer but I am very hazy on how this is done and what chips I need to buy and what kind of EEPROM burner / reader to get. Any help advise is greatly appreciated

I did a search but for "This Board" When I did a Forum search like you suggested info came up. How silly is that? One would think this would be a Sticky or "How To Do" in plane sight. The info I found is from 2014. Hope its all still relevant. I will find out.

You also cannot backup flashboards without a special flashboard tool which are kind of expensive.  The most you can do is backup the boot chip on it.  For 3902 games there are also Simms, for which you will need a special SIMM reader/Writer to back those up.  Do a search on e-bay, the one currently available are from Latvia.  I've never used them, but others here have.
