Title: BB1 Reels O Dublin credit set up
Post by: br549autosales on August 10, 2020, 11:18:22 PM
Trying to do my credit settings after installing new batteries & clearing my machine. I have my base denom set at .01 as usual but it won't turn green on the icons for credit limit, jackpot limit & upper jackpot limit. Do they have to be set in a certain with this game? I've never had an issue before when it comes to these settings

Not all games/OS/SJUR combinations support the change to those.  What SJUR are you using?  Also with the bb1 steppers, there's a limit as to the credits because of the number of digits on the credit windows cannot exceed the credit limit's number of digits/100 (in the case of penny denom).

Here is the info on my game & OS cards:
Game S698-000-1010
OS is SSOS-000-1611 v1611
Does that info help?

Why do you feel a need to change the defaults.  I never change them.  I don't have the game you have so I have no way of testing it.  I would just leave the defaults alone.

Well I don't really need to change them, just notified they were different than other BB1 machines. So I can just leave them be, thank you sir I'll give it another go when I get home from work

Just tried setting up the denominations & limits without changing any o f them, when I touch "set," I get this message: save a sorted due to invalid data, you must correct invalid data to save. Under the credit limit tab in between bill limit & jackpot limit, it's in red at 10,000.00, shouldn't that be in black to match the upper jackpot limit icon?

What denomination did you select on the game setup (not accounting denom, but game denom, where you pick the percentage)?

Try setting max credit limit to 9,999.99

No matter what I try to enter in for the credit limit, i stays red & won't go to black or green background

I believe the credit limit cannot exceed the jackpot limit of $1,200.00  try using 999

Post by: br549autosales on August 11, 2020, 03:27:25 PM
Just tried setting to 999, same thing, it stays red and then changes all the rest of the settings to a red background except base denom, which I have set to .01 and multi denom, those 2 stay with the green background, this is crazy

Not sure if this could be causing the problem but normally on a BB1 machine all 5 reels do that weird reel spin where ther just kind of click around all the symbols on the reels constantly, all 5 of these reels are just turning one notch at a time every 5 seconds

Try using just one denom.

On my current BB1 reel machine, the credit limit matches the upper jackpot and the voucher in limit.  It is set to 1,000,000.00, my paytable denom is 5 cents.

Just tried setting to just one denom and tried to set the credit limit & upper jackpot limit to 1000000 but only the upper jackpot setting has the green background, the credit limit stays 1000000 with a red background so they are still not matching up, any other suggestions? It has to be something simple I would think
Title: Re: BB1 Reels O Dublin credit set up

Play with the number of digits on the credit limit until it turns green.  Like go 1,000,000, then 100,000, 10,000, 1,000 to see if any turn green.  I've never had this issue before.

Tried that just now, same results one if those 2 settings stay red & don't hold to green. Could it possibly be the wrong OS card in it
Title: Re: BB1 Reels O Dublin credit set up
Post by: rickhunter on August 15, 2020, 01:32:32 PM
You wouldn't get that far if you had a wrong OS.  My guess is whatever value is red, you have to make both values the same.  I would lower the values that are red.

Just to try something different I cleard my machine again & tried to set up the game denomination but still can't get the credit limit & upper jackpot limit to both turn green together & match up. I've tried single & multi denim, I've tried setting up as .01 & .05 for my main default but still nothing. Any ideas on anything else? Thanks

What Jurisdiction chip are you using?
Title: Re: BB1 Reels O Dublin credit set up

Where is that located?
Title: Re: BB1 Reels O Dublin credit set up
Post by: idesign on August 16, 2020, 10:37:03 AM
Seems to me you can't go above $1200 for the upper jackpot limit unless you have a No Limit jurisdiction chip.  So try $1000 for both and see if that works.  Maybe post a screen shot of your setup screen so we can see what you are doing..

It says credit limit is too large so maybe change it to something smaller like 500.  Also I think you can increase the upper jackpot limit if you want.

Yeah, it has to do with the digits on the LEDS.  Your bill limit also cannot be higher than your credit limit if I'm not mistaken.

It's a 5 digit display, the denom amount on the glass is .05 if that helps any

Lower the credit limit, try 500 or some other number that makes it turn green.

You need the spn button panel.  I also looks like the spn cable connection that goes to the door is not connected to the system for whatever reason.  Here are photos of the way my 3 reel stepper is connected.

I would unplug and plug all the "ethernet" looking cables.  Maybe they are loose?  Also trace those same cables.  One of them just connects one side of the front door led digit boards together (so it is basically a short cable going from one plug to the other). Another cables goes down into the animator button connection.  And the other cable goes to the spn lamp matrix board that should be on the left side of the cabinet around the reel area.  Then there's a cable going from that spn lamp matrix board to the spn hub that is under the reels.  Then there's a plug that goes from under the reels to the spn connector on the backplane next to the touchscreen port.

There's a plastic tab on the bottom right of the reel.  Slightly lift up on it and at the same timen pull the reel forward using the metal tab that has a black rubberized handle on it.

Well it worked for about an hour. I walked away from it and came back 30 minutes later & it had call attendant on the small touchscreen. Could not get it to display what the error message was so I did a clear & cleared just fine but when I put my my OS card back in & turned the machine on the small display does not start booting up, just stats black. I know it's got power because when I turn it on it first shows up as "no signal" but it goes black after that & don't go thru the boot sequence. All of the LEDs are lit on the motherboard & the CPU board

Could this possibly be a power supply issue?

If you get no text on the screen I would make sure that you have no loose connections.  Also there are leds on the backplane on the upper right area just below the MPU that are voltage indicators.  They should be lit green.   If they are all lit green, then you most likely have good power.  If you have good power and all connections are good, I would try another mpu.

Changed the MPU then was able to get into the settings but when I went to game settings there was nothing t choose for max bet. Now it's not booting after initial power up again. Here is the chip on my MPU:  do you need to see that small snap in card on the left side that looks like a memory stick?

I need to see the bios, not the memory card.  The bios is the 32 pin eprom chip.  I have never used clear 1851 for a bb1.  I always thought those were only used on bb2's.  I could be wrong though.  I've always used an 1810 clear or 1350 for bb1's.

I don't have another MPU just like the one in the game now, but I have a couple of these types, will they work?
Title: Re: BB1 Reels O Dublin credit set up
Post by: rickhunter on August 20, 2020, 08:45:18 AM
Yes, they are both bb1 mpus.  The older ones are the green type and the newer ones are the blue type.  I can't read the bios version on the eprom on that bb1, but you can just move the one from the other mpu.  You need to have version 2000 bios (which is what you had in the other mpu).

Does this style MPU use the 2 of the 2032 batteries as well? The battery holders on this one looks like they may require s slightly larger battery
Title: Re: BB1 Reels O Dublin credit set up
Post by: rickhunter on August 20, 2020, 01:23:38 PM
They use BR2325's, but the 2032's will work, they just won't look right, but at least it will get you past the nvram battery low issue until you get the 2325's.
