Title: Help identifying IGT Video Poker machine
Post by: arcadegameguy on September 01, 2014, 01:09:56 PM
Hi, I recently purchased a non-working IGT video poker machine (see attached pictures).  I'm not sure what model this is, and was wondering if there was a way to tell from the model number?
Unfortunately, I don't have a key to this machine, so I can't open it up.  What is the best way to go about opening this?  Do I need to drill out the tubular lock?  Anything to worry about if this is the route I have to go?

Thanks in advance!
Dave

Looks like a Fortune I or PE.. It would be easy to tell if the door was open. You can drill thru the center of the lock to open the door. If you knew someone with a number 0001 key it could open the door.

Yeah, it'll be neat to see what's inside of this!  Does anyone know of anyone that sells keys for these?  I hate to drill the lock if I don't have to (since I'd like to try and keep that original)...
Probably doesn't matter, but I attached a better picture of the lock itself.

Thanks!
Dave

You could check with a local locksmith to see if they could open it? You can find a replacement lock for around $10 on EBay or your lock shop should have one for $20?

Sorry that it has taken me so long, but I finally got the lock on that poker machine drilled out and the game opened up!
Attached are some pictures of the inside.  When I turn the game on, the top light (white) on the candle flashes, and the lights on the inside come on, but nothing else. Perhaps it has a monitor problem since I don't think the high voltage is kicking in.  I don't hear any crackling sound, or feel any static on the front of the CRT...

Anyway a little progress!

Thanks!

Looks like you have a PE machine. The MPU is on the back wall behind the hopper. A PE+ would have it on the low left wall along side of the hopper. It look like you have a Ceronix chassis powering your monitor. You can have those chassis repaired with a year warranty through Ceronix for I beleave $65.00. See if the white molex plug under the the monitor is plugged in, it located in the left side front. You can remove the whole monitor assembly by unplugging the plug under monitor shelve, and lift and side the whole assembly out.

Thanks for the info!  Is there a PE manual online (I'm guessing that I'm just missing it)?
I pulled the monitor out, it is a Ceronix model 1490.  I found some documentation for model 1492, are they very similar?

Thanks again, this is all very helpful!

A 1490 is earlier then a 1492.. If you were a contrubuting member here I beleave it opens up the section where the down loaded manuals are located. Some free down loads can be found at Rudy's Steal and Deal. At least I think that's the name of the sight.. I usually just call them Rudy's. you might be able to find a manual for your Ceronix at there web sight.
