Talked to Kate today and got the sad news that they are going to take Steve off life support on Monday. He is down to 2% brain activity and there is no hope of improvement. Very sad to loose such a close friend. Kate and Steve always made my wife and I very welcome in their home every time we went down to get machines. Had to stay for dinner and drinks all night before we could leave. Going to miss him !
-
So very sorry to hear this news, his family and friends have my deepest sympathy.

My thoughts and prayers are out for Steve &,Kate. I reached out to Steve to see if he was going to be at the York PA show. He asked me to let him know if there was anything he coud bring down in thr truck. Told me where he thought his spot would be and set a time where we would meet and get something to eat and to get to know each better. I never got to meet Steve, but I go to talk to him and even that had a big impression on me as to what kind of person Steve was. Steve was taking time out of his expo day to meet a new member of NLG and welcome them, show you his stuff and tallk to you about tons of slots issues. Steve, i Thank You from the bottom of my heart for being willing to welcome me and agree to sit down and get to know each better.
Kate, no word or condolences can make you feel whole or not alone today or tomorrow, but please take great solace from all,the wonderful things people are saying about your husband and what type of man he was. I am so sorry for loss. Fondly, Brent Chism

I too will miss Steve. I've had all week to get ready for this and it still seems like a bad dream. I did not talk to him very often on the phone, but email and NLG were at least every couple days.
-
Steve passed away early this morning. Kate is making arrangements and I will forward what I know. Very sad day !!
-
Sad to hear this news, please give Kate our condolences from everyone at NLG. Steve will be missed greatly.

I have been following this and While I don't think I knew Steve, It is very sad to see a fellow slot comrade fall. My condolences also. B.
-
I have had 2 weeks to prepare for this, but am still very upset. To my knowledge he was liked by all. He will be greatly missed.
-
I really feel for his wife Kate who has been by his side for over 2 weeks in York hospital 350 miles from home for what was supposed to be a 3 day trip for a show. But yes Steve was liked very well by all that knew him. he was a straight shooting tough cookie , but would do anything for you. I for one am going to miss him dearly. Now we have to get Kate thru this..
-
Luckily she can keep the business running. I think she knows everything about slots too.
-
I so sorry to hear about Steve's passing. I didn't know him personally, but my condolences go out to his wife Kate and all the family members..
-

Wow, I can not believe this! For the past few years I always met Steve and his wife in York. Helped load and unload the truck, picked up a few machines there and this past Fall I returned to his place in VA and picked up 4 more machines. Unfortunately, 4 weeks ago I had to go back into the hospital for my 4th cancer operation. I am so sorry that I was not there for him and his wife. You can see what a great guy he was by the notes (above) the he always sent to me showing how he was always concerned about me and other people. He was one hell of a guy and didn't deserve this. We had planned to get together again this coming Spring/Summer and I was hoping he could make it to our next "Pottstown Get Together". Rest in Peace Steve, you will not be forgotten, we love ya Buddy !!
