Odyssey machine mystery

(1/1)

vette6048:
Moved my Odyssey machine from one part of my basement to another part of the basement very carefully and when I powered it up all I would get was 0000 on the inside of the door. Sometimes I would get code numbers like 44-1 and all kind of crazy codes. I noticed that behind my hopper where the hard disk and power supply are they are not secured with the screws. All I was getting was 1 red light on the board instead of the normal 5 or 6 lights. Maybe it was just pure luck but I kept checking the hard disk and made sure it was back in place and secured and after about 2 hours the machine went into its normal rebooting process and starting working. My question is just because the power supply was not secured tight with the hard drive or disk would that have caused this crazy problem? Believe me I was very careful when I moved the machine. Anybodys opinion would be greatly appreciated on this mystery!! Please no wise guys opinion to tell me to hit themachine with a bat!! Just Kidding!!

In all honesty I read the first line and LOL.... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Don't want to be mean, but this is just the nature of the beast. I sold my Odyssey machines and I truly miss them dearly, but dam they were tough to keep going. I moved one 90 degrees still on the stand and I had to degases the screen to get the colors back correctly. When they are up they are the best of the best, even today with the latest games. I did LOVE my Odyssey's .....

Just tried it now and its working perfect. Sometimes when I turn it on I expect to see Linda Blairs face as the Exorcist pop up because sometimes I think the machine is pocessed!! I have had this machine for almost 4 years and for the most part it has been pretty decent to me and I have had some cases with it that just puzzled me!! Like you said it still has some great games and great graphics compared to some machines today!!
