Fortune 1 Draw Poker No Sound
danatlvc:
I have a Fortune 1 Draw Poker Machine that works perfect, but has no sound? The machine is super clean inside & out & I would really like the sound if possible. I'm not very familiar with Fortune 1 machines & my first one. Does anybody happen to know of a fix or is there a cap I need to replace or something of that sort? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated

First, check the connections to your speaker and then to the sound board, which should be located above the hopper. Sometimes a wire to the speaker will disconnect or break at the point where it's connected to the tab. Then check the plugs on the sound board itself. Also try adjusting the VOLUME control. Sometimes those get dirty and you just need to adjust it up and down a few times (contact cleaner works but be careful) to get the sound again. Report back.

It's a 1981 Model 701C & there's no speaker or speaker board in it, just a bell. I'm assuming the ounds came from the board, but not sure. I've attached a pictures with the hopper out & the board. Thanks for the info

Ok... so you never had sound. And I can see why after you posted the picture... no sound board! I added a picture here so you can see where it goes. You might post a WTB ad here in the forum. Someone out there may have one. I'm not sure what's involved in hooking it up. The sounds aren't great! They're kind of goofy. I'll post my Youtube video and you can hear them.

I bought a very nice Fortune 1 from a fantastic member of this forum. The sound worked when I bought it. Soon after I realized that the sound had stopped. I did not miss it. The connection to the sound board under the hopper does not seat well from time to time and the game goes silent. When this happens you still get a loud hum from the speaker. When I have company that want the sound I reseat the connection. When I play by myself I turn the volume down to avoid the hum and just enjoy the game. From what I understand MOST of these games do not have sound. A parts machine that may have the parts that you need can be had for in the $50-100 range on eBay and craigslist from time to time.
