Is it worth taking a shot on a CDS "Top Dog" machine for $300 or less untested?

Not yet. Have any opinion? Are they easy to fix if there is issues?

As you say, you would need to see it power up and see what happens.   Most likely needs battery.   Then a error clearing (turn key / open close door a few times, turn key some more) ...   It's all 50/50 shot.   A  1  or a 0.   A coin toss..  If the machine is complete, it may not need a birthchip.  Battery changes just need to verify what is stored on EEPROM (turning the key, open close, repeat)...

I think we've had a good run on this forum getting more machines working than not.

He sent a video of it powering on but nothing happens on the monitor. The monitor stays black. Pretty sure if the monitor isn’t working, it may not be worth the trouble. But maybe…
