VLC 8825 Eliminate bill acceptor?

I have a VLC 8825 Ring Em Up, has developed a bill accepter/stacker issue that we cannot seem to resolve.  Is there any way I can eliminate the bill accepter function and rely solely on the coin in for credits?  I have a few old IGT poker machines that this is done to.  OR, if any of you can help with my acceptor issue that would be great, full story can be found in WBA 11-12-13 forum.  Thanks in advance for any help/guidance.
