DBV-200-SS 022/023 Bill Validator clicks every 2 seconds

(1/1)

Kwill23:
Hello all, I was troubleshooting an issue with an S+ machine and swapped MPUs to see what the issue was. since I swapped MPUs the bill validator stopped working. It clicks every 2 seconds, and  does not run through its startup cycle. any thoughts.

Badbaud:
Did you run a set chip after putting in the other MPU? the EEPROM on the backplane boards needs to be updated on what MPU is installed.

Kwill23:
I did not. I didn't have one. I ordered them and they will be here Monday. I will let you know what happens when I do it.

Kwill23:
I ran the set chip with no change.

Jim:
The bill unit in an S plus machine is a system by itself, meaning it will cycle and do its routine even with the cpu board removed!

the unit uses it own power supply to power the unit, the only thing it gets from the machine is 110 vac to run the power supply.

if you have a 200 unit, on the left side ,between the two plugs, there should be a set of RED LEDS that will be visible when the machine has power, if they go on and off as the unit clicks, then your power supply is going south. that's typical when the power supply is going out, it will click every few seconds , if you leave it on long enough the caps might charge enough and start working, and sometimes it won't.

Hope this helps

Jim

I have refurbished power supplies if you need one.
