Picked up a Sega Continental

I picked up this great slot machine, it looks like it was used for Italian Lira and the size equivalent of a dime.  Currently it pays out properly but is like it is on free play.  After a quick look I believe it is something to do with the dimes in that silver horizontal slot at the top of the machine.  It seems that the dimes are not going smoothly through that area, it has like washers up there what the dimes need to move up to get through and they don't seem to mode very easily.  I could be complexly off with that, I have not looked at any parts breakdown or anything like that.... yet.  I am leaving for Vegas Monday and then to Phoenix to have thanksgiving with my Son but you can bet I' going to get right on it when I get back in a week.

Anyone have any hints on this?
