Cleaning The G23 Bezel

The aluminum, if that's what it is, bezel around my G23 is a little gunky. It's a slim layer around the whole thing. Any advice on giving this a good cleaning?

I use Windex a lot of time for that sort of thing.  If it's chrome I have also used chrome cleaners.
