Brand new Machine owner... Potential issue

Good afternoon folks...
I just came in to possesion of a IGT game king with a 3902 board.   SEe pics

Upon getting it home it worked fine... Then i got error pictured below.

It would not clear by turning they key.  So I just unplugged it for a few hours and plugged it back in and it worked.
Went on with my life.

The other day I was talking to a slot tech online and because I didnt know what machine i had, he had me take a picture of the board..  After putting the board back in the machine, I got this error again... Same one.

This time unplugging it did NOT clear it.
Would love any assistance here.   
Btw i am BRAND NEW to this hobby, so treat me as if im 6 years old :)

The error is telling you that the EEPROM on the backplane is bad, or the MPU is having difficulty reading or writing it.
Check the connector pins on your 3902 board (MPU). Also make sure all socketed IC's are all the way in their sockets on the MPU, and the board is plugged in all the way.

The EEPROM is easy to replace on the backplane. It is socketed. If that's not the problem, the MPU would have to be looked at.

First off, lookes. thank you for the reply. but you are giving me WAY too much credit.
Based on your message am I correct in assuming the MPU is the board (tray) that I pull out... The backplane is obviously the board that the MPU (tray) plugs in to. 
What exactly are the ICs?  are those the chips that go in to the MPU?

Assuming I check all of these and its still throwing that error, would you suggest replacing the EEPROM?  I assume thats just a socketed chip...

EDIT : I just took out the board, poked around, everything looked fine.. pins were good.. all the things were seated right.  I put it back in (a little more forcefully than last time, but not hard).. Closed the door, booted up... came up with a coin jam or something, but as soon as I opened the cabinet the error cleared and the machine is playable again).  Basically it appears as if I pull that main board out it causes this issue.. as long as I dont touch it, it seems ok... I would like to fix it permanently tho.

Sounds like it's connector related. Always make sure the power is off when removing or installing the MPU or any cards or cables.
The IC to make sure is tight is on the MPU board, says SENET on it. It would cause EEPROM as well as Coin In errors if it was loose.
You are correct with your assumptions about MPU vs backplane.

Remove the MPU board and look at the pins. They should be shiny gold. If there is a black coating on the top and bottom sides, they can give intermittent connection.
If they are not shiny, clean them with contact cleaner.

Don't slam the board in, but after you feel the pins start in, push it in firmly.

So given those pins are nested inside that white plastic, the contact cleaner will need to be contactless right?  its a spray, but you dont recommend using any sort of brush right? just spray in there and let it go right?
