bios password reset

(1/2) > >>

qbert:
I picked up two Reel Touch machines not too long ago they both came from an Indian casino in Canada. The issue I am having is they apparently set a bios password and I am unable to enter the bios to save the settings. Does anyone know how to clear the board so I can get to the bios?
They were originally bios 1 and I could not get into the bios .
I then swapped out the chip for bios 2 thinking this would allow me in. This did not work nor did removing the coin battery. If I can't save the settings I'm screwed. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
Rich

LINDAM:
All motherboards have a CMOS clear. Look for what is pictured below. It may or may not say CMOS clear. On the DFI's in the reel touch I think it's the one next to the battery. Pull the jumper off and put it on the other end of the 3 pins, turn it on for a few seconds then off and put it back where it was. you will have to set up the M/B from scratch but if you pick the default setting you should be OK.

Tried that Lin although I can't remember if I turned it on with the jumper moved. I'll try again when I get home. Should I do it with or without the battery installed?
Thanks

LINDAM:
You have to turn it on. That's what clears the Cmos

LINDAM:
Many M/B's will also clear if you leave the battery out for about 15 min. Myself I like 30 to be sure.
