Title: GK17 039 Board Door Open MCLB

Showing all doors open, MCLB. I know this problem is in the board, as I have had several of these come up and have stacks of boards put away with this problem. Clear chip won't touch it, only changing the MPU will. We don't have Coin equipment at all. It isn't I/O boards. Any idea what component on the MPU causes this? It isn't the main battery, ruled that out. I am in a strict jurisdiction in WV, it's a royal pain to troubleshoot being behind lock and seal.

Do these run into the same issues the S2000 500 series board did where the green varta battery would corrode and kill the door optics traces? Or maybe the battery is just dead? Just a thought...

Not familiar with anything but 039 & 044, but 039 does have alot of corroded varta batteries, probably dead. Can that cause this? We don't have optics, but it makes some sense. Maybe I can clean the board up enough if not destroyed. Is there a recommended replacement for the varta battery?

Results are in, changed both batteries in 2 boards. 1 of the 2 now works with no errors, the other still showing doors open.

If you put the mpu that works on the other cabinet, does it work?

I've never seen a 3902 board with a varta battery.

Are they 3903 boards? I have one that had a green varta battery on it.  I removed the battery got door open MCLB errors afterwards.  So I removed U69 and U72 too and that cleared the errors.
