Coins just pass through to coin tray. Received this machine with the parts as shown in pic. The harness to the optics and comparator have been spliced, looks wrong. Can anyone look at this and tell me if it is correct for this machine? The pseudo test coin button on the optics board works like it is supposed to. The sensitivity on the comparator is turned all the way CCW. Any help appreciated to get the coin mech working.

is the coin mech switch in the up position on the front of the MPU

since you have a Bally 6000, you could try the following: shine a flashlight at the cabinet optic, this will tell the cpu that the door is closed ( even though its not) now you can see what is going on with the coin comp. is the LED on the CC16 coming on? did you try a different coin as a sample?
not sure if you can shim out the rack and see what happens?

When I close the door the 50 error code (door open) clears. The LED is on. I suspect the wiring is messed up, but I don't know what it should look like. I am trying to find a good picture of that this harness should look like to compare. Here is what my current wiring looks like (the way I got this machine/non working coin comparator).

Do you have a solid amber light on the coin optics board?

Resolved. There was no power to the coin comparator. I repaired the harness and all is working again.

Broken wire or not wired correctly?

That mess of a harness with all those crimp connectors...was wired wrong.
