Recently purchased I-Game program
« on: May 18, 2022, 11:45:48 AM »
Hi all,
I recently picked up an I-Game program on eBay that I had never seen before. It's a Wheel of Fortune program so I thought why not... unfortunately I'm having issues with it loading.
Some background: I'm running an 044 with a legacy board. The program itself is all Eprom based (as pictured). The literature pictured shows a Key005 chip required but I'm using a Key040 because I understand with a legacy board that's correct (not sure). What's happening is it's giving me a device error screen over and over. I hear the bill validator move for a second then the device error screen pops up.
Does anyone know how I can move past this and get the game up and running?
Thanks, Jim

Yes I have that set and it requires Key5.  It may not run on 044 adapter board, I have never tried it.

That would be a bummer but I guess I could put it on my 13" Game King to try it out. I'll look for a Key 005.
Thanks, Jim

EEprom device error has nothing to do with the BV, it was just checking netplex devices (and choked)when it discovered the eeprom problem.
The EEprom is missing, inserted wrong, shorted out or possibly failed for one of any various reason eeproms fails. The eeprom does not reside in your software set, but rather one on the logic board and one on the backplane. Typically the backplane one is socketed for easy replacement but not always.(and you shouldn't have to worry about the logic board eeprom)

Occasionally I have had software that won't just over-write the old eeprom data with a typical key off error requiring a ram clear. That doesn't appear to be the case for you, the mismatch error is a bit different and you encounter it with every ram clear.

If there is an eeprom issue not related to the software set, then wouldn't other programs fail to work as well. Once encountering this issue, I went back to my previous game program and it works fine. I'm confused.
Thanks, Jim
