Title: Effinet 32” dead horizontal pixel row
Post by: Hertz14 on January 15, 2023, 06:38:53 PM
Have a line of pixels out, horizontal on my WMS S32, Effinet touch 32. I was given some recommendations to replace the TC board and did so, but no fix. What’s interesting is that it seems to have a pulse... the next pixel line below it seems to flutter every second or so. The dead line however is completely dead. My next step is to pull the casing and replace the ribbons from the tc to the lcd display. Since it is a horizontal line, I did not do anything with the AD board yet at this point.

Anyone have any other thoughts on what I can look for, or is this a LCD panel issue?

Update-

I changed the ribbons from the TC to the distribution boards. I also inspected the ribbons that go from the dist boards to the lcds. Those ribbons are bonded to the board, but I didn’t see any separation in any of the contacts.

In either case, still have the issue.

I had a similar issue with a different brand of LCD (32") and was told by an LCD manufacturer that the panel was bad.

I was also told by a former Kortek engineer that I could try to do the things you are trying but he was doubtful it would help. I ended up just skipping to replacing the LCD panel.

IMHO you are following the correct steps but it just might be a bad panel.

Mine was not a full row yet but it was heading that direction. Your mileage may vary. Good luck.
