Title: JCM UBA-10 protocol jumper positions.
Post by: rickhunter on January 25, 2017, 06:41:06 PM
This post is to help clarify the UBA 10's serial protocol jumper settings.  There are 3 jumpers that determine if the validator is C-Loop (IGT and WMS) or RS-232 (bally, aristocrat, etc)

The WMS bluebirds 1 and 2 are able to use the validator in either position.  If the validator is in a C-Loop, then the backplane jumpers are JP1 2/3, JP2 1/2, and JP3 2/3.  If the validator is in RS-232 mode, then all jumpers are positions 2/3.

Here is a photo of the validator in C-Loop mode.  If the jumpers are in the opposite set of pins, then the validator is in RS-232 mode.  These photos illustrate C-LOOP mode.
