Title: IGT M slot payout
Post by: x42zrb on December 19, 2020, 03:31:50 PM
I am working with 1985 IGT 4 reel slot machine.  Does anyone know if they can be made to pay out more often?

The only way to change the payback percentage is to change the game EPROM on the MPU with one that pays out a higher percentage.  That's the easy part, finding a file for it will be the real difficult part.  They use a RS file that has the game and reel software on a single chip.  What is the RS number on the EPROM you are currently using?

I didn’t understand most of computer lingo but I did understand the part about finding a file would be difficult.  I talked to my Mother-in-law about it and she said to leave it as is.  Thanks for replying to my question but I think I will leave this issue alone.

Ha ha OK.  I don't think you would have found a higher % payback file for it anyhow, but ya never know what someone has in the stash of files.

Alright, guess I have to revisit this issue. :duh:   My mother in law asked about changing the payout %.  Could someone post a picture of the RS file/EPROM chip that I need to look for to check the RS number?  Then at least I would know what I currently have.  I hopefully I can find a different chip.

It's located on the MPU board.  If yours is not labeled like mine then you'll have to use the machines self test menus to determine what it is.
