Title: Forth of July light for reels
Post by: Tom Bera on November 06, 2021, 01:35:51 PM
A little advise needed. The reel light fluorescent tube will not light above the reels. I have tried the bulb and also a starter that was supposed to be tested before I bought it and still no luck. Thank you in advance.

Well the only thing that leaves is the ballast transformer then (or the power to it).  Check that out.  This must be a S+ machine.

I figured it out after checking the wiring. On the three wire connector on the ballast was an adapter of sorts, after cutting back the shrink I found it contained a 1 1/2 amp fuse. I just took it out of the circuit and plugged the wire directly to the ballast and I'm in business. Any advise on needing to replace that adapter/fuse? I looked on Ebay and could not find one. Thank you Tom

Can you post a pic of it?  You may have to resize it so it gets under the 1MB file size limit here.  I've never seen one with an inline fuse before and am wondering if it's something someone added for some reason?

The gentleman I purchased the ballast from he has seen the fuse on some machines.

Thanks.  I've never seen one of those used before.  Glad you got it working  :applause:
