Title: I'm I wrong to expect an item I bought on NLG classifieds within a month?
Post by: sabotage14 on March 31, 2023, 12:45:10 PM
Paid for 503 mpu on 3/1 with Paypal and still nothing. Emailed on the 3/18 as was told It was shipping  that day.  2 emails since then and crickets............
No tracking , Nothing...  In the mean time I get to hear from the wife "what a waste buying that slot machine was." :duh:

I dont want ass to the guy. Stuff happens but how about a little communication?

Caveat emptor.  Yeah, that timeframe is unacceptable unless agreed upon by the seller and buyer.  Have you sent him a private message here on NLG?

Stuff does happen, but ghosting somebody that’s sent money…I’d be lighting him up publicly by now.  We need to protect the community, so you have my attention.

Thanks,
Jason

I try to not be a Karen. Life happens, illness, family emergencies etc,.
I don't expect Amazon Prime shipping, but just a quick email if something happens?
I am going to give him till the weekend before I put him on Blast.
Although I do not know what that looks like on here? Anyone know the proper etiquette for NLG?

Thanks ,

A man with a silent slot.

The proper etiquette is to ship in a TIMELY manner and to provide the recipient a tracking number or the date shipped if it just went "regular" mail.
I have had to add a disclaimer to the NLG classifieds recently:
It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED you use payment forms with buyer/seller protection. NLG is not responsible for "transactions gone bad."
This has happened numerous times with some members (NOT any of our recommended sponsors) who have either shipped wrong items, broken items, or not shipped at all.
First, did you use Pay Pal Friends? If so, you're out of luck. If you used the business method, then you're protected by Pay Pal but you have to file a claim through them of course.
Please PM me the name of the person though as I would like it for our records for any future issues.

Update for all in this thread:
I know who this NLG member/seller is, and he's caused trouble with at least three other members (in good standing) here. This is the third complaint in just a few months and I'm not tolerating it much longer. If he doesn't follow through, he'll be banned for his "third strike."

Again... it's highly advised to use payment forms with PROTECTION. All of our sponsors are reliable as well as all of our senior members.
But we do have contributing members that sell on NLG classifieds. In the past, most have been just fine. However, time to time, we seem to get a few members that turn into a-holes, for whatever reason.  :fryingpan:

If this is who I think it is I had to put him on ignore.  I don't think I've ever heard of a 503 board. Are you looking for a 502 or 504?

Yes. SORRY. MY 1st slot. I think mine was  502?. I believe he had 2 different listed when I paid. After reading on here any opinion on upgrading?  I see there is one listed  in the classifieds.

Get a 504, a modified 502 to 504, or 1270 enhanced board (requires enhanced backplane also).

Who is the seller???????

Agreed, I think it would be a good idea to let us know who it is.  I for one don't want to do business with this person, even if they follow through on this latest transaction.

He's been advised and warned in the past with a number of other problems with members.
I'm taking care of this.

Thought that was Tomiev3. Sounded just like something he'd do. I put him on ignore here on New Life Games then had to block him on Ebay too.

The safest bet is to deal with Vendors we have listed on the home page.
We also give a badge to members that are trusted vendors.

Member to Member interactions are not governed in any way however interactions with staff, moderators, and Sr. Members are pretty safe.

As this is pretty much the most comprehensive source of information for non-casino techs, the only stick we carry is to block, ban and chastise our members into behaving. We will do what we can for you, but as always buyer beware.

Thanks for everything you guys do.  Fortunately I can say I have never had a problem with any NLG member I've done business with, this really is a great community.  Very few bad apples.

HIs name in ebay is thovar-37. These types of people stain all of us that sell parts here on NLG. In all the years I've bought and sold parts here I've only had one complaint. I shipped the wrong part, my fault. I moved swiftly to make it right. The buyer got $120 worth of parts for no charge. So some of us here that aren't sponsors still do everything in our power to be fair and honest. Too bad people like this make the others members suspicious.

I gave him multiple chances to shape up yet he continued on delaying, not shipping, and not refunding in any timely manner whatsoever.
And yes, most ALL of the non-sponsor but contributing members have been fine in the past.
Recently I added this banner to the NLG classifieds.

Hopefully we won't have this problem again.
I fail to understand why this guy couldn't just exhibit some common sense and reliability in his business? :Scratch-Head:
It's really not that difficult.  :duh:

Wow...I just went on ebay to see if thovar-37 was in my "saved sellers" list...fortunately he wasn't, but I seen a LOT of names of ebay sellers that are gone and don't sell much stuff anymore like "lemans1969","cindymdu", "dave_2000", "john42355", "neonslots"...you get the picture...haha

Leemans was one of the really good ones, based in Ohio.
April was her first name. I believe her husband had a number of health problems so she may have retired.
