Title: 3902 to 044
Post by: Delma on September 22, 2017, 10:07:11 AM
I have some 3902 boards in place and want to switch it out to an 044.  Swapped boards to fit 044 ram cleared but my touch screen is not working.  I did pull the monitor to test in another game and it worked so it must be a wiring issue.  I did not change the harness from the backplane to the monitor that sends signals etc.  Could that be my issue.  What are my ootions.  Any other ideas.

Do you have another 044 board to try?  A lot of times with touchscreens it ends up being a ground issue.  Try putting one hand on a metallic part of the cabinet while operating the touchscreen to see if it makes a difference.

I had tried another board the issue remained... is the 14 pin connector that goes to from the back plane to the monitor itself (board side) pinout the same or does the touchscreen chsnge from 044 to 3902

Harnesses connect the same on the MB for the  044 as the 039. One molex connector towards the left side might have to be flipped 180. CRT or LCD doesn't make a difference.

If you have a good know monitor and touch screen controller board and it doesn't work in one machine but does in another --- For some reason I think it's the mother board. You could always move the MPU to another machine first.
