Title: 1940's Mills bell high top mechanism lever help needed
Post by: oneslot on February 25, 2015, 01:23:21 PM
This is a 1940's Mills Jewel Bell mechanism that I completely dis-assembled to clean as it was covered in old oil, grease and dust (first one ever) and put it back together but have one spare lever part. Can anyone tell me where it goes. See picture, lever measures 2 1/4" long, it is a thin metal part so more of a spring holder than an operating type lever. I am thinking it is from the area behind the brass coin tube. This machine has a jackpot payout and the manual I have does not show much other than the main generic mechanism's.
Thanks Ed

It goes beneath the slides. It is a slide lock out lever.

Thanks for the tip. So basically one of the first parts that should have been installed upon reassembly.  :Scratch-Head:  I took a quick look and do not see where it goes. I just bought another service manual that hopefully will show more parts details.

Its placed under all the slides between the slides and the base plate. If my memory serves me right, the little bent part is down.

I have figured out pretty much where it mounts, also see close to what part is broken off mine. An upright tab with 3 notches is broken off. Anyone know how long that part is? Anyone have one to sell me? Or a picture of an unbroken one would help confirm that the one picture I have found was broken and repaired with the tab notches facing the wrong direction.
Thanks Ed
