Just bought a 1986 Bally draw poker machine is now working , but I have no sound , where would I find volume control ? On wins, no sound, no sound for anything, how would a test to see if there is power to the speakers?- update today- i have since been able to get the volume to work!!
As for the lights, all lights are working other than the ones across the draw buttons any suggestions on where to look to resolve, or are they even supposed to light up?
New problem, everything, other than the button lights was working, but for some reason I am now getting a - inappropriate coin errors on the screen, each of the buttons only beep, can’t clear this error, I have cleared all the coins from hopper, the coin flow through the mechanism fine, how can I clear this error?, I will post a picture of what is now on my screen
So the coin issue only happens when the door is closed, if I have the partially open I can drop the coins in and get the credits, no issue, but when the door is closed and you drop a coin in, I get the error of inappropitraite coin, I need some help
Thanks steve

I have a poker machine with the 3 board stack. I am not going to be using it if you want any parts.

If your battery reads at least 3 Volts then pressing the red reset button usually clears the errors.

Where would I find the red reset button, I have looked for it but do not see it
-
In front, just to the right of the battery.
-
Thank you found it, all it does is memory check (see image) then it goes back to the same error inappropriate coin
-
Check the coin switch wire and see if it is constantly being depressed.

That sounds good, i might be needing parts, where abouts are you located

Checked the coin switch wire, it is fine, also it accepts the coins correctly , they go into the hopper fine, is there a way to clear this error?
I have also emptied all the coins from the hopper same problem
Issue resolved, i found a hopper reset button (just below the red piece of tape on the center of the picture, there is a button) who knew, i depressed that and the error went away, so all is good now.
Other than no lights on the hold buttons, not sure if their are supposed to be lit
So much for it being resolved. I’m back to the inappropriate coin. I can reset it on the hopper reset switch but is soon as I close it up next time.
And drop a coin in bounces right back to the inappropriate coin. I’m not sure what is wrong.
I do have credits on this machine, and i can play credits without issue, if i have the door open i can put coins through the front and through the coin accepter, and it registers on the screen as accepted, it is only when the door is closed that the "inappropriate coin" error comes up
Any ideas?

Most button caps can be removed from the top/outside by gently prying on one side while prying upward. Finesse is the key, as well as a firm blade. Personally I use my pocket knife blade, no other tool seems to have its rigidity and thinness.
Once you get a cap off you can pull a bulb and test it. Its not likely that all the bulbs are burned out but you need to prove that at least one bulb physically works.
Is there a separate lamp driver on that game or do they all go to the main board?
