Post by: Jim on June 11, 2017, 11:20:41 AM
Have an Alpha,  power supplies appear to be good,  all new batteries,   using a 512  with a 336 os   get this message, fatal fault, 113-04-2000    83-41:00,    error opening boot ID file.   changed 512 units, tried another 336,  tried to clear, during clear get to the same point, fatal error, error opening boot ID file.    using a AVBPP26S300M -0-3  ST  U-16 CS  FIBD  11/17.

if I turn off the cpu using the ATX switch, machine appears to go into a test cycle, all the digits will lite with a decimal point and 8, reel #1 will spin, the reel LEDS will adavance through, the wheel spinner will rotate,

any suggestions

Thanks

Jim -

I am trying to understand whats going. Bare with me.

You are getting a boot ID fault with RAM CLEAR? as well as with OS And GAME file? What RAM clear are you using?

When the MPU is off all reels should be spinning and the display should be flashing 8's or decimals. This is normal. If you are getting 1 reel out of the rest, I wouldn't say you have a problem until the game fully loads and you calibrate the reels.

Charles,  using a 317, 320 and a 335 to try and clear the machine, I am probably doing it wrong, my notes are kind of screwed up at this point.

will do some more reading .

Do you have a 312 clear?  Try that, and if no go replace the eeprom on the board.

if your bios chip is a 300 you use only the 335 clear if it's a 309 use 320 clear and 307 uses 312 clear

Here is some more information, this is a 5 reel  wheel machine. I guess with the number 300 in the bios chip I have a 300 bios chip and should use a 320 0r 335 to clear it.  The chips I received for this game are : AVOS00000336-06 2GB DMA Alpha OS,  ASGRLWNRMPLR=01  256MB DMA Reel Winners Multiplier. when I turn on the machine, using two switches near the power supply, the atx switch is on.  the cpu is buzzing, and I get a ! no input on the screen.  if I turn off the  atx  switch and turn it on the information is displayed on the screen, (kinda fuzzy) loads information until it gets to the error, opening boot ID file.  it says to turn jackpot reset key to reboot, this does nothing.
I read the thread dated feb. 29 2016, rwalker192,buzzing no video,  my symptoms are basically the same.

Jim, Normally a buzzing brain box is a internal problem in the box-boot sequence.  Is this a 512 or 1 gig box?  The 336 os automatically instructs you must use the 335 clear.
