Title: IGT S-Plus Double Diamond Coin Display
Post by: Dtabes on February 04, 2023, 07:51:07 AM
Hi there all. I just got this Double Diamond S-Pus in and I have no coin display at all. All other lights are on except anything on the entire coin display. Thoughts as to where I can start at this? This is a home slot for our basement and have made a contribution to the site

A lot of times, the 6-pin motherboard or backplane Molex connector is the culprit.
I attached a photo below for you of it.
With the power switch OFF, pull up on this white connector and turn it around.
If it has brownish colored burn marks on the back of the white housing, it may be time for you to get it repaired or replaced.
Sometimes if you gently wiggle it upwards a little, say about a 1/4 inch, the female pins inside may get a better connection and the display will come back on.
But it won't last too long I'm afraid to say and will fail at some point.
You need a new harness, or the pins inside replaced with new female trifurcon pins.
There's guys here that can replace them for you.
Hopefully they reach out to you.

Are the reels stiff when you power it up?
Did you check all fuses with a meter?

Hi there everyone thanks for the help so far... I have posted pictures of the board and assume they are pretty much fried... Does anyone know where I can get a replacement board and where is a good place to buy a replacement battery? The Safe LS3 3.6v battery

That'll buff right out  :rotfl:

Yeah...a battery leaked liked a busted dike.
I'd consider shopping around for a MPU and motherboard (backplane).

Thank you... Do you have a place online where I might find both of these boards? I know you are very active here and have seen this a million times.... lol

You might want to get in contact with NLG member Jim of Midwest Slots.
You can find his phone number on the homepage.
He may have what you need.
If not, ask him where you might get some?

You can try cleaning the boards up with vinegar and an old toothbrush.
If you're handy with soldering, install a coin cell holder and a 3 volt coin cell from Walmart's might work.
But the acid damage does "look" pretty bad.
Where was it stored? Outside?
I've never seen such damage!
