How to diagnose and troubleshoot a stuck Pull Handle
« on: February 04, 2023, 04:49:55 PM »
Hello All,

I have a Splus new to me that the PO informed me the pull handle hasn't worked for a long while. I did complete a search and didn't find too much on NLG. Hoping someone can lay out what they do to problem solve and narrow down the issue with a stuck pull handle.

Thanks.

Stuck Up, likely the solenoid is not functioning to release it.

Stuck down, likely broken ratchet pawl or torsion spring.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

Stuck up. Seems as though I can get a finger in there to release some sort of latch that prevents it from being pulled so it can be. But then when it goes back up it’s latched again. I’m leaning toward the solenoid or at least wiring/power to it.

You can remove the solenoid completely and the handle will still function but it won't make the clicking sound nor lock out. Could be a simple as a broken spring on it.

Hi RB, do you happen to have those parts available?  I've picked up another S+ machine and the handle is stuck down!  I also need some coin compairator clips if you have those too!  Thanks!

Jim
