Title: Ceronix 1793 cuts out
Post by: 61Wally on February 03, 2023, 02:18:21 AM
A FANTASTIC day to.ALL. I have a Cernix1793 monitor that fires up and works Great for about 3 minutes then goes blank. There’s No noises or noticeable bad parts. It’s a Very clean monitor as compared to anything that I’ve ever seen l. It’s ok n a GK machine. If I let it sit for 10-15 minutes, turn it back it goes through the different color patterns, Then allows game  play for approximately 2 minute, then goes blank. I’m new to monitor repairs, Any thoughts?

I have no experience with 1793 specifically but any time a CRT shuts down after a moment (usually faster than 3 minutes) you need to consider the Xray protection circuit ( over voltage). Someone else might have a better suggestion but the manual in the file system is great reading (sarcasm). Vital caps should be replaced too. I have attached an excerpt from the troubleshooting portion of the manual.

OK, Thank You, The page came out too blurry to read but I see the page number, so when they fix my internet, I will download and check those caps. I ordered a replacement cap kit as well. I will post the outcome.

Solved. CHRIS/SOCAL sent me in the right direction. I replaced the board on the back of the CRT and it’s been working Great. Thanks for Fantastic advice. Sometimes pays off keeping some junk parts around!!!
