How to add a photo to an inbox message

This is NOT a "How To Guide" yet.... 
I want to send a member a photo of something via private messaging...how do I do it? 

If it's only possible via email...then delete this..haha

Very good question. I would like to know how to do that too. I have tried but unsuccessful. I know I have received a PM with a picture from someone in the past. I know you can link a url where a picture is located. Not sure if actually attaching an image is possible.

Here's how I do it. There may be a better way but I have no clue.
First, click using the NLG site navigation menu: My Videos & Photos.
Then click "New Album" I think by default you have to create album once.
Next, there will be some blue banners that appear when you create go into the album.
Click "Add an item to this album." Then add the item as you would on a regular NLG post.
Once it uploads it should show you the Direct Link URL (or if it's existing, you press DETAILS at the bottom)
Copy that link!
We're almost there! Don't fret. 
Write your PM to whoever. Click the INSERT IMAGE icon. For me, it's under the B (bold) icon. You might just have to hover around til you see it.
THEN... put the direct link smack dab in the middle. For me though I have to add back the right bracket so either add a space or do what I do and just add it back.
I always press PREVIEW to ensure I haven't screwed up.
This is convoluted but after doing it a few times, It's fairly easy.

I didn't even know about the photos and videos feature here until a few years ago. It's definitely not so user friendly but reminds me of the "old computer days" before things go so easy with adding things to web sites, or social media sited. I remember the old "Myspace" site and got my lesson in HTML (which was about my only lesson!) and how you can add weird little symbols and suddenly your text got bold or bigger!

I CAN WRITE IN TINY FONT TOO! ISN'T IT ANNOYING WHEN YOU CAN ALLLLLLMOST READ SOMETHING BUT THEN YOU REALIZE YOU NEED YOUR DAMN GLASSES??

There's not a method built in to the software to send images easily through PMs like there is to attach an image to a regular message.

You can use any third-party image host that supports hotlinking of images.  My current site of choice is PostImages.org.  You upload your image there, and then copy the "Hotlink for website:" code into your message.  The code will look something like this:

[url=https://postimages.org/][img]https://i.postimg.cc/kGkzc7D3/nlg.gif[/img][/url]



...and will result in your image displaying in the message, like this:

I didn't think of using an image host. I guess it's because they tend to disappear over time when they're in a thread.
But good idea for using in a PM... that may make it a little easier.

You can also sign up for a free drop box account and share a link.
This way you own the content and share/not share as you choose.
Your also not limited to images or any particular file type.
